One of my favorite books on freelance writing is The Renegade Writer: A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Succes by Linda Formichelli and Diana Burrell. Linda runs The Renegade Writer blog which is filled with great tips and tricks as well as motivation for freelance writing. I interviewed Linda for an article on full-time freelancing and I was super excited when she asked me to write a guest post on her blog. From what Linda has seen, many aspiring writers out there don’t lack the skills, they just lack the confidence! Which is why I wrote this post: Why Writers Should Stop Being Scared and Take a Leap of Faith.
When I began researching freelance writing and analyzing what it would really take to leave the comfort of the cube, I was astounded at the number of articles, books, and blog posts about jumpstarting a full-time freelance career.
I started to get really nervous – do freelance writers only write about freelance writing? Are there no gigs out there beyond writing about writing?
One year after I launched my full-time freelance writing business, it hit me: Everyone else is just too chicken shit to pull the trigger…
